    As the Quality Assurance Director, you'll join the Department of Social and Health Services' Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Lakeland Village.

    As Quality Assurance (QA) Director, you will oversee the Quality Assurance program ensuring that all standards for resident programs and services are met. This includes professional standards, ICF and Nursing facility regulations, safety standards, etc. In this role, you report directly to the Superintendent of Lakeland Village Residential Habilitation Center, a residential Intermediate Care Facility and Nursing Facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Quality Assurance Director will partner and collaborate directly with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Lakeland Village quality assurance team.

    You will be responsible for supporting the facility’s QA programs to ensure that Lakeland Village is meeting regulatory requirements of an Intermediate Care Facility and Nursing Facility for individuals with developmental disabilities. You will work in a proactive manner in identifying potential facility issues and provide assistance to Lakeland developing correction plans prior to regulatory review to prevent facility citations. You will partner with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to support and guide the work QA staff. You will work to ensure through quality standards, resident lives are transformed through gaining independence and maintaining/improving overall health and safety.

    This is the right time to assist DDA in making lasting changes and improvements for Lakeland Village Residential Habilitation Center.

    What you will be doing:

    • Support the development and implementation of the QA program at Lakeland Village.
    • Participate on the QA Advisory Committee; setting agenda, determining goals and objectives of the committee and determining quality assurance data to track and interpret. Determine Root cause Analysis of collected data and make recommendations to Management.
    • Member of the Quality Assurance IDT subcommittees for both the ICF and NF. Set the agenda, determine with the committees Quality Assurance data tracking, parameters and goals to accomplish. Report recommendations to the QA Advisory Committee.
    • Act as member of the Human Rights Committee. Make recommendations regarding resident rights as they relate to CFR, RCW, WAC and NF ICF Guidelines.
    • Provide QA guidance to professional entities QA subcommittees (i.e. pharmacy, nursing etc.).
    • In conjunction with the administrations for the ICF and the NF, make recommendations and/or develop plans of correction (POC) related to specific audits and/or surveys by organizations such as Residential Care Services (RCS), Centers for Medicare/Medicaid (CMS) regarding federal regulations and reports presented by Disability Rights Washington (DRW).
    • Implement regular and random reviews of PBSP's, IPOC's, IHP's, Active Treatment training programs, QIDP reviews, Minimum Data Set reviews, and present the outcomes to the Superintendent or designated administrative staff.
    • Provide technical assistance, guidance, and support the work of designated staff focused on Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
    • Provide oversight and support on Performance Improvement Projects (PIP).
    • Develop training for staff related to needs identified through the QA Root Cause Analysis process and for staff as a result of RCS audits and related Plans of Correction.
    • Act as a member of the Administrative Cabinet.
    Who We're Interested In

    We are looking for a professional who has a Bachelor's degree in human services, public or business administration or closely allied field;

    AND

    Five (5) years of management experience in a facility setting, of which at least three (3) years must have been experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

    Preferred / Desired Education, Experience, and Competencies:

    • Knowledge of:  Advanced principles of management; internal controls, federal and state laws pertaining to facility ICF and Nursing Services; systems evaluation and planning; quality control; developmental disabilities administration and facility agency policies and procedures.
    • Skills to:  Plan organize, lead and direct a spectrum of measures to ensure and enhance the quality of the services provided by Lakeland village; evaluate systems and make improved changes; provide information and consultation to the facilities administrative staff related to areas of expertise and items of concern/interest
    • Other knowledge includes:  Principles of human resource management and collective bargaining agreements, understanding of agency and state organizational structure and decision making process as well as the Departments relationship and communication structure with other state agencies, such as Department of Enterprise Services, Washington State Human Resources, Office of the Attorney General, Adult Protective Services, and Residential Care Services.

    • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with management, peers, facility staff, residents, resident families, and the public as required to carry out the assigned duties of the position.
    • Safeguard sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain confidentiality regarding resident information.
    • Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity.
    • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
    • Identify issues of a serious and sensitive nature that need to be reported to supervisor/chain of command.
