Quality Assurance Director is responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to production quality standards. Monitors and audits process, material, and product testing against established standards and conducts a continuous analysis of quality defects and deviations. Being a Quality Assurance Director identifies deficiencies or gaps in testing activities and develops solutions to ensure adequate and robust quality processes. Optimizes processes to comply with existing and new regulatory requirements. Additionally, Quality Assurance Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Quality Assurance Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Quality Assurance Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Description:
The individual in this role is responsible for coordinating and leading the quality assurance function while overseeing the quality management system (QMS), product line quality, and stewardship. This involves leading quality efforts by creating and incorporating quality procedures, standards and specifications to ensure product delivery to customers in a timely manner. Partner with QC, production, and product development teams and lead the quality review process across the production pipeline. Facilitate frequent review meetings for all commercial product lines ensuring they meet specifications and manage the exception process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Supply Chain or Biology (Agriculture is preferred)
• 5 years of agriculture industry experience
• Strong understanding of quality management systems (ISO9001) and regulatory principles with knowledge in implementing and managing a quality program
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively cross-functionally (verified by references)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop and implement quality processes and programs by working with stakeholders and functional leaders
• Strong organizational and motivational skills as well as strong attention to detail
