The Quality Assurance Manager is directly responsible for the successful implementation and continuous evolution of SeaBear Company’s strong QA and SQF (Safe Quality Food certification) programs.

• Overall QA Leadership: Day-to-day management of the Company’s Quality Assurance Program and team with an emphasis on creating a culture of quality.
• Food Safety Plans: Lead the development and implementation of the Food Safety Fundamentals, Food Safety Plan, and the Food Defense Plan, ensuring our products and processes are compliant on all applicable regulations
• Maintain a Culture of Excellence: Provide day-to-day leadership on the production floor to ensure our culture of excellence is brought to life.

Overall, this is a key role in our artisan smokehouse operation, critical to helping us deliver world-class seafood products with a focus on safety and product quality.

Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and leading the Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, Environmental Pathogen Control and Food Defense Programs.

• This position will have primary responsibility for ensuring regulatory compliance and serve as the company representative during audit inspections by Regulatory Agencies and third-party audits.
• Responsible for hiring, training, instruction/execution, managing and motivating the Company’s QA Staff to deliver consistent, safe quality products.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining the company’s Safe Quality Food Program (SQF)
• Ensure our products are compliant on nutritional/ingredient/allergen/labeling regulations
• Ensure the proper Quality records/testing/reporting are in place and adhered to
• Work with the various teams across the organization on “Not On My Brand” and other QA initiatives
• Investigate the root cause of customer complaints, review and approve the development of corrective actions

What The Successful Candidate Looks Like:

• Leadership qualities and works well with others
• Detail oriented, excellent work ethic and ability to work independently
• Successful experience in quality control and/or food safety auditing
• Proactive, with a track record of bringing continuous improvement to their area of responsibility
• Hands-on approach. A desire to get deeply involved with the operations of the company
• Successful experience acquiring and adhering to quality certifications, such as HACCP, PCQI

QA Relevant Experience:

• Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methods of Quality and Production Management.
• Past Quality Assurance Management
• Experience in Labeling Regulation
• Seafood HACCP Plan Development Certified (training available)
• Better Process Control (training Available)
• PCQI (training available)
