Quality Assurance Engineering Manager manages inspections of raw materials, equipment, processes, and finished products. Implements quality standards and protocols for quality assurance testing models. Being a Quality Assurance Engineering Manager assists in the design and implementation of policies and procedures for testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and/or equipment. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Quality Assurance Engineering Manager acts as a technical advisor to quality assurance engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Quality Assurance Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Quality Assurance Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are currently recruiting for the position of Quality Assurance Manager.

    The tasks and responsibilities required of the Quality Assurance Manager are outlined below:

    Quality/Inventory Control:

    • Champion of quality within the facility.
    • Collects, tracks and organizes data in order to provide performance feedback to the operation; responsible for suggesting methods to improve areas of operational efficiency and service to our customer. (OS&D, System Adjustments, Location Errors etc.)
    • Responsible to facilitate and coordinate those activities associated with any internal or external audit, inventory cycle count, or any other quality and inspection related event.
    • Works closely with senior and department managers to address non-conformities from internal and external audits.
    • Primary resource and main point of contact for quality related activities such as the management of inspection hold products, product recalls, product inspections, trailer inspections and similar activities.
    • Maintains positive and service oriented work relationships with our customers and internal operational business partners; works closely with key customer points of contacts to resolve inventory and product control issues.
    • Recognized as the inventory and related systems/process expert in managing product through the warehouse.
    • Provide guidance and general support in resolving and researching inventory discrepancies.

    Services:

    • Responsible for the management of value added services in the facility to include space sell-off tenants; primary contact for customer specialized service requests.
    • Management of receiving, inventory, product order, picking and shipping processes for all value added services.
    • Establishes a strong working relationship and rapport with the customer with an emphasis on personalized service and value.
    • Develops and implements processes and plans to meet customer requirements.

    General:

    • Capable of performing and directing the duties of all subordinate positions.
    • Analyze and control expenditures of department to conform to budgetary requirements.
    • Provide performance feedback and demonstrates coaching behavior on a regular basis to each team member; write and administers annual performance reviews; provides guidance through coaching behaviors, training, discipline and positive recognition to develop and improve performance.
    • Establish work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives.
    • Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures to meet and/or exceed requirements; champions continuous improvement activity within the department.
    • Ensure associates are performing all duties in a safe, clean and organized manner. (Work area, equipment, PPE)
    • Participates in special projects and assignments as required.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    The skills and qualifications required for a Quality Assurance Manager are outlined below:

    • 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience in a logistics role.
    • 3-5 years of inventory/quality control experience.
    • Intimate knowledge of Shipping/Receiving, Warehouse, Inventory and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices.
    • Leadership: previously demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
    • Strong computer skills related to the use of Microsoft Office products, Warehouse and Inventory Management systems and Productivity Tracking Software.
    • Strong communication skills (written, oral) along with a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
    • Ability to operate and train subordinates on all equipment associated within a warehousing environment. (Forklift, deep reach, walkie, RF scanner)
