Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Welding and Fabrication Quality Control Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in welding and fabrication processes, along with a strong understanding of quality control standards, particularly ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, and AWS D1.1.
Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement quality control procedures for welding and fabrication processes.
-Strict implementation of and knowledge of Magna Fab’s Quality Control Manual.
-Conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, and other relevant standards.
-Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and weld procedures.
-Coordinate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
-Train and mentor welding and fabrication personnel on quality control processes and procedures.
-Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
-Collaborate with engineering and design teams to improve welding and fabrication processes.
Requirements:
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in welding and fabrication quality control.
Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, and other relevant standards.
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage QC floor inspectors.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

This is an onsite position and requires shop presence Mon-Fri 6am – 3:30pm, Weekends and overtime as necessary. This is a floor manager position and will require a daily shop floor presence.
