Our continued growth in the automotive, aerospace, commercial & industrial, DOD, firearm, and pharmaceutical industries requires EMT to hire an experienced Quality Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a seasoned manufacturing Quality Manager that has previous work experience in Metal Stampings, Sheet Metal Fabrications, and Precision Machined Parts. The Quality Manage is responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS).
· Supervise 10-12 quality inspectors across a 2-shift operation, prioritize workload, and ensure total compliance to company’s quality procedures and guidelines.
· Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, in-process inspection, and final inspection to ensure that they comply to all internal and external requirements.
· Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s manufactured products.
· Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
· Conduct periodic management review meetings.
· Oversee the resolution of all customers Returned Good Authorizations (RMA’s).
· Must be familiar with PC-DMIS based Coordinate Measuring Machines.
· Extensive ISO and AS9100 experience are a requirement.
· Act as primary contact for internal and external technical queries from customers
· Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality.
· Be disciplined in presenting to senior management information outlined in the company’s monthly cost of quality meetings.
· In Charge of MRB (Material Review Board) with participation from Business Unit Managers and the Engineering Department. Initiate, lead, and follow thru on internal and external corrective actions that result from the findings of the MRB team.
· Support customer satisfaction by ensuring inspection is not a gating factor for on-time delivery. Redeploy assets as required to meet daily shipping and production schedules.
· Make staffing decisions, recruit new quality personnel as needed, assess and respond to training opportunities.
· Must be proficient in the utilization of ERP Systems.
Education/Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality is required and 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control. Current CQA or similar certification is required.
· Quality managers must have proven ability to lead a diverse team of quality control personnel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels is essential.
· Must have strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, and management skills.
· Experience with MS-Office is needed.
· Project management experience is a plus.
· Prior experience with precision stamping, sheet metal and machining preferred but can be offset by experience.
