    Job Summary

    As a Software QA Manager at ZOLL Data Systems, you will work with development teams to define and execute a quality strategy and mentor offshore and onshore teams. This position is responsible for ensuring high quality in native applications, APIs, mobile, windows, client/server applications and web-based applications. These applications comprise a product suite used for charting patient medical records in an emergency or pre-hospital setting and is considered a best-in-class solution for EMS and Fire agencies. To be successful in this role, you will have background in both manual and automated UI testing and leading diverse teams in an Agile environment.

    Essential Functions

    • Define and execute a best practices quality strategy
    • Engage in manual and automated UI testing
    • Ensure high quality in native applications – APIs, mobile, windows, client/service applications and web-based applications.
    • Drive the quality, vision and strategy across the engineering teams to attain consistency in method and process.
    • Attend daily scrums and Agile ceremonies
    • Lead QA team members in best testing practices to consistently ensure quality is a key element injected into our development process.
    • Drive architecting, implementing and enhancing both manual and automated testing processes to support a continuous integration.
    • Review test automation code to ensure coding standards and best practices are being followed.
    • Work with QA engineers to troubleshoot failed builds.
    • Coordinate the tracking and reporting of key quality metrics for measuring progress, quality and efficiency.
    • Review historical, existing and ongoing bug reports to identify areas needing specific attention.
    • Oversee testing status in our Issue and Project planning software
    • Ensure root cause analysis is done for all hotfixes.
    • Trace test cases and results back to specific user stories/requirements/quality risks
    • Act as advocate for the customer and user experience
    • Understand and effectively communicate product requirements
    • Act as a liaison with other department stakeholders and customers (i.e. Support escalations, other product teams, etc.)

    Required/Preferred Education and Experience

    • Requires a Bachelor's degree ( or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science. Electronic Engineering. Mathematics or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience as a QA Engineer. Technical Lead QA. Technical Special or related occupation. Experience must include: five (5) years of experience in the following (experience may) be gained concurrently: Manual and automated quality assurance
    • Bug tracking and task management software such as Jira
    • Four (4) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently: Writing SQI. queries.
    • Three (3) years of experience in the following may be gained concurrently: Working in an Agile SCRUM environment
    • Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Quality Assurance management , Comfort working with offshore development and testing teams Selenium
    • One ( 1) ) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Experience installing and configuring Microsoft Windows
