Quality Assurance Manager - Healthcare manages and implements the quality management and quality improvement programs for a healthcare facility. Oversees quality assurance and compliance functions.     Summary:

    This position provides leadership to assure consistent quality of Valpak production, along with development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of quality programs and systems.  This position leads a team of quality professionals to review, recommend, and/or validate quality processes, and implement and monitor quality activities for the manufacturing organization. 

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    1. Recruit, develop, and lead a team of professionals trained in manufacturing quality assurance, document management and technical writing to provide technical quality assurance and documentation services for the Valpak Manufacturing Center.
    2. Draft and recommend a plan of action to develop and implement organizational quality requirements, standards, policies, and procedures.
    3. Create a plan of action to establish quality expectations with leadership and the workforce.
    4. Develop methodology and tools to track and monitor quality issues, perform statistical analysis, and report progress and insights via metrics.
    5. Develop recommendations for curriculum and work with HR, Operations leadership, Production Training, and Employee Development personnel to establish training for quality standards and best method of packaging, communications, and delivery of training as required.
    6. Develop vendor quality certification programs as part of a supply chain management strategy.
    7. Develop, monitor, and report on annual budget for the Quality organization.
    8. Accomplish duties using safe work practices and equipment while being responsible for reporting all injuries and observed unsafe conditions or practices.  Coach fellow employees on safe work practices as appropriate and contributes to the overall success of the company’s safety program.
    9. Perform related work and additional duties as needed or required. Participate as a member of the leadership team as a member of the Core Process Team (CPT) in a 24/7 manufacturing operation, including participation in rotating weekend manager coverage.

     

    Education/Experience:

    • Six to eight years prior experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with people leadership in a supervisory or management capacity.
    • Ability to use descriptive and inferential statistics to produce insights regarding production quality.
    • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and applications

     

    Requirements and Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Operations, science, engineering or business related field preferred.
    • ASQ certification as a Quality Auditor (CQA) and/or Quality Engineer (CQE).
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documents, instructions, or reports.  
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to utilize document and content management systems, such as Sharepoint.
    • Ability to create technical documents using standard Office applications, graphics applications, and other technical communication tools.
    • Demonstrated financial acumen and budget management experience.
    • People leadership abilities to set goals and motivate performance of professional staff.
