The Senior
Quantity Surveyor is responsible for effectively and efficiently monitoring and
advising on construction costs issues at project and program level. The Senior
Quantity Surveyor provides support to the Delivery team(s) and other
inter-dependent functional areas of the division to ensure projects, externally
sourced costing and the work undertaken is cost effective, of high quality and represent
value for money.
The primary
purpose of this role is to oversee, coordinate and manage the provision of cost
performance analysis through effective and compliant cost attribution, cost
control and reporting covering areas including budgeting, forecasting,
accruals, cash flow monitoring, as well as managing payments processing and
cost recovery.

Provide expert advice and solutions to delivery teams including, but not limited to, review of cost plans prepared by others, budget formulation, contributing to project briefs and claim evaluation signoff.
Act as a Quantity Surveying specialist for the Delivery teams for the purposes of budget setting, forecasting, research, data analysis and capture, cost planning, estimating across a project lifecycle from quotation to completion of work.
Evaluate the performance of service providers and suppliers to foster a culture of teamwork and cooperation that is focused on respect, solution and cost-effective outcomes.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by monitoring, researching and recommending improvements to systems, processes and procedures.
Undertake cost planning audits.
Advise on the appropriateness of different approaches to managing cost risks across projects and their financial or time impact to ensure project and program objectives are met.
