Being a Quality Assurance Nurse reviews and analyzes customer complaints. May need to help train staff on new or improved clinical practices. Additionally, Quality Assurance Nurse requires an associate's degree/bachelor's degree and is licensed to practice nursing. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Summary: The Nurse Educator teaches nursing and patient care at the departmental and organizational levels to align with mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The Nurse Educator designs and implements education for nurses and nursing staff, including orientation, continuing education, competency development and development or revision of nursing guides (policy and procedures) to support changes in nursing or patient care. The Nurse Educator integrates evidence-based practice into program development. Responsible for outcomes of education programs. Collaborates with approved nursing colleges and universities for departmental/unit clinical experiences. Coordinates and facilitates Quality Assurance/Infection Control and Performance Improvement program, coordinates facility infection control program, liaison to Employee Health, and other duties as assigned within scope of practice including clinical responsibility for facility in absence of Director of Nursing and Clinical Manager.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Mater’s degree in Nursing Education preferred. Spice course completion highly recommended. Must have within 1 year of hire. Minimum of two years clinical experience in long term-care. RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state/compact license) required. Demonstrated work experience and competency in nursing staff development. Demonstrated ability and experience in adult education. Prior experience in educator role preferred. Current knowledge of general and advanced nursing principles, adult education principles, methods, and techniques. BLS required
