Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Registered Nurse

  • Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing
    • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Unencumbered license)
    • Minimum two years’ experience in nursing with at least one of those years in long-term care
    • Cross Training required to the RN Shift Supervisor, and Unit Supervisor positions.
    The QAPI Nurse will be clinically competent in long term care and skilled nursing care, professional, and a licensed registered nurse who uses the nursing process to reduce risk and develop interventions to prevent resident incidents from occurring. QAPI RN assists in the development, evaluation and implementation of the Quality Assurance and Assessment Program, QAPI Program and projects, Department of Health Plans of Corrections and restorative nursing programs.
    QAPI RN develops and leads interdisciplinary teams to implements Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs). Collects and analyzes Quality Assurance Performance Improvement data. The QAPI RN assists in providing in-service training and continuing educational programs to nursing staff in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and St Anne Home policies and procedures.
    The QAPI RN effectively interacts with staff, residents, their significant others and the ancillary health care team members in accordance with St. Anne Home’s ethical requirements as described in our Mission, Vision, Value, Pledge and Fundamental Commitment statements found in our Code of Corporate Compliance.     • In order the have the necessary knowledge and skills cross training to the Shift Supervisor (RN) position is a requirement. Knowing how to serve as a Unit Supervisor in the administration of medications and treatments as ordered by the physician and using the electronic health record is a requirement of this position.

    • Attend Nursing Home continuing education, PDE training sessions, meetings and a PDE Teaching the Educator Seminars as assigned.
    • Serve as the electronic medical records point person for facilitating training of nursing staff, providing training when new computer procedures are developed and resolving issues that arise from the Medical Records software use at St. Anne Home.
    • Provide annual continuing educational programs for staff as required by the state, federal and local agencies to maintain compliance with licensure
    • Participate and assist in ensuring compliance with surveyor pathways used by State and Federal surveyors to prevent various F-TAG being cited. Specific CMS Critical Element pathways and Associated F-TAGS to be in compliance with include:

    • Charges equipment, supplies and services correctly
    • Participates in performance improvement activities/evaluations
    • Responds appropriately to emergency situations
    Ensure the nursing restorative program meets the state and federal regulations
