Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We’re Looking For:

Iridium is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Manager who is looking to take an exciting next step in their career. As a leader within our Software Delivery team, you will be responsible for managing the Quality Assurance Test and Integration activities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for comprehensive testing, integration and validation of Iridium business and billing system releases/enhancements. You’ll be successful in this role if you have the domain expertise of telecom billing, can lead the testing activities for complex front end and back end systems, are a good communicator, active listener and creative problem solver with an analytical mind. What You’ll Do:

• Foster and develop a highly effective and customer-oriented team, recruiting, selecting, training, and coaching employees, while supporting and providing opportunities for their personal and professional growth
• Mentor and train your team by evaluating employees’ performance, recognizing areas for improvement, and providing reliable solutions to problems that may impact your team’s effectiveness
• Be responsible for the creation of comprehensive test cases and plans for functional, performance, stress and regression testing needs for all assigned projects, systems, and applications
• Lead inter-departmental coordination of testing schedules, plans and results effectively to ensure that all testing needs are being assessed and addressed
• Be accountable for effectively and accurately documenting delivery and integration results and concerns as well as communicate them to developers, stakeholders, and project managers
• Oversee the QA integration and test automation design and execution efforts
• Participate in projects beyond immediate team, represent as a testing leader of billing team in larger project initiatives involving multiple departments

Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 10 years of relevant software development/testing experience
• 5 years of progressive experience in telecommunications industry
• Must have experience with Oracle BRM or any other telecom billing system
• Experience with any or all the following: Java, PHP, Perl, Cucumber, Ruby
• Advance knowledge of and experience with software integration and development practices
• Highly skilled at automating large and complex testing scenarios, helping agile teams to deliver incremental deployments to production
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey resource or system constraints to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
• Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
• Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
• Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
• Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
• Possess the ability to manage projects and drive deliverables to completion with a demonstrated experience in leading software and integration

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

• Prior experience in telecommunications, utility or banking software systems

We’ll also need you to:

• Be able to travel up to 10%

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
