Job Description
The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for conducting swabbing, microbial testing, and documenting various quality data points. This quality assurance technician will spend roughly 50% of the time working on a computer with quality data entry, trend charting, document control, and other various quality data related tasks. The remaining 50% will be spent collecting microbial testing, overseeing quality throughout the plant, and assisting in the lab as needed.
-Conduct all microbial testing (swab testing monthly, IMS film monthly, non-IMS film, air-plate, and water quarterly). Update trend charts accordingly.
-Track monthly PRP auditor completion. Send out reminders each month to those who haven’t yet completed their audit by month’s end. Send out warnings to those who have gone past due.
-Update monthly food safety & quality key performance indicators (objectives)
-Update weekly pest control trend chart from weekly pest control report. Log food safety issues identified from pest control book into incident log.
-Update weekly food safety training compliance by department/shift and e-mail updates weekly to department leadership.
-Update monthly food safety trend chart from monthly Intelex report.
-Post documents for document review and publish when approved.
-Maintain annual documentation (accreditation and applicable certificates of destruction) from service providers.
-Update Food Safety & Quality Boards monthly.
-Accompany IMS inspectors during surprise inspections
-Assist with various laboratory tasks as needed
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- A high school diploma required
-1 years of QA/QC experience with a GMP environment required. Preferred QA/QC experience would come from a food & beverage, plastics manufacturing, or packaging.
-If lacking QA/QC experience an individual with an Associates degree in a scientific discipline will be considered.
-Document control, data entry, attention to detail, excel and quality systems experience
