TITLE: Quality Assurance Specialist
REPORTS TO: VP Deposit Operations
DEPARTMENT: QCRH Deposit Operations Quality Assurance
LOCATION: Springfield, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Quad Cities
JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for verifying the accuracy of maintenance completed in multiple systems throughout the organization. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide quality assurance for all account and core system maintenance performed across organization. This role is vital in ensuring accuracy and compliance with SOC controls.
QCRH is a multi-charter organization that provides centralized operations services to our charter partners.
QCRH Banks are in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. As such, this role could involve infrequent travel and will require an ability to communicate across various levels of leadership. This is a fast-paced position and will require the ability to multi-task as well as adapt to change.
If outside of the Quad City Bank & Trust market, the individual may be required to travel for initial and ongoing training. Once trained, employees are eligible for hybrid consideration.
This person will provide a full range of professional, technical, and general support to bank personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Maintain a thorough knowledge of all retail and treasury banking products, including the requirements for making changes to client account data and core system changes.
2. Verifies the receipt of paperwork required to support system changes with daily audit reports.
Paperwork is reviewed for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls and
Sarbanes Oxley standards.
3. Communicate and track daily report exceptions.
4. Ensures accuracy of the work being reviewed by demonstrating a strong attention to detail.
5. Balance General Ledger accounts on a daily and/or monthly basis for all bank charters.
6. Maintain an understanding of corporate Standard Operating Procedures as they apply to the job functions. This person is responsible for helping to ensure that charter staff are consistent with the
SOP documents.
7. Assist with preparing audit requests from internal departments as well as regulatory agencies.
8. Assists in document retention as needed.
9. Assist in the development and upkeep of departmental quality assurance procedures.
10. Work as a team player and provide excellent customer service to our internal clients.
11. Other duties and projects as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
1. Associate degree in finance/accounting or an equivalent combination of banking support experience and/or education is preferred.
2. At least 2-4 years’ experience in a banking environment or similar financial institution is beneficial.
Specific knowledge of client account opening, closing, and bank maintenance procedures would be preferred.
3. Knowledge of NACHA Rules and Regulations is beneficial.
4. Must possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, intuitively knowing how to research issues, investigate them and follow through to their inevitable conclusion and resolution.
5. Proven effective oral and written communication skills. This includes professional etiquette in all interactions.
6. Strong Computer skills are required.
