SUMMARY:
Nosco is looking for a Quality Specialist at our Pleasant Prairie, WI facility.
As an employee owner in this position, actively support the site operations teams to ensure conformance of products to Customer specifications and to ensure our processes are in compliance with our Quality System procedural requirements. This includes providing routine, direct support to the manufacturing floor consistent with the Lean principles of Leader Standard Work.
The core responsibilities for each QA Specialist will be a selection from the list below with a focus on either “Job Review / Release” or “Quality System Support” with cross training in place based on business needs.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (THE “WHAT”):
- Support the achievement of the annual quality performance metrics established specific to Formal Complaints, Total Complaints and Customer Rejection Cost by routinely engaging in GEMBA activities in manufacturing.
- Take ownership for the release of manufactured product by performing the final QA / QC release activities including batch review, generation of customer documentation and ERP transactional release of inventory.
- Generates all customer facing documentation, generates color standards, and maintaining the color standard library.
- Provides in-process Quality System support to manufacturing personnel regarding defect disposition and isolation, set-up of inspections, initiation of sampling plans, quarantine of non-conforming materials, and completion of applicable documentation.
- As directed by the QA Manager or Quality Engineer, facilitates and/or oversees the root cause / corrective action investigation process associated with internal, external and supplier related non-conformances in compliance with Quality System procedures. This includes drafting customer responses as required.
- Performs appropriate QA follow-up and verification activities associated with Corrective and Preventive action plans that result from the various Nosco Quality System programs including NCR’s, SCAR’s, CAPAR’s, internal audits, customer audits and supplier audits.
- Support the achievement of a high level of compliance to the following Quality Management System Programs.
- Support 2-3 measurable process improvement projects annually.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the QA Manager or Quality Engineer and Site Leader.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum High school graduate required, with further education/degree preferred or equivalent industry exposure and experience. Technical quality system and manufacturing experience is helpful, especially in a printing / packaging environment.
- Ability to demonstrate an acceptable level of computer system use and software aptitude to perform tasks as required adequately.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management and organization skills, with an ability to prioritize many follow up responsibilities simultaneously and complete tasks on-time, complete and correct.
- Well-developed written and oral interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to effectively deal with individuals throughout the company.
- Flexible with regard to plant and shift assignment.
- Must meet the following physical requirements: Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time, must be able to regularly lift 15 pounds and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds, work at a computer for extended periods of time and have manual dexterity for computer work, long periods of concentration, etc.
- ASQ Certification of CQIA (Certified Quality Improvement Associate) is beneficial to the position and can be achieved through development objectives.
