Quality Control Analyst performs various scientific analyses to evaluate the quality of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods and ensure compliance with established standards. Conducts and validates various biological and chemical quality control (QC) assays. Being a Quality Control Analyst compiles, interprets, and documents statistical data from testing processes to either confirm compliance with established quality standards or identify deviations. May be responsible for establishing specifications for conducting assays and writing standard operating procedures. Additionally, Quality Control Analyst typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Quality Control Analyst work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Essential Functions:

    • Product measurement, inspection, & test on behalf of the company.
    • Inspect incoming materials: components and tooling per drawings and specifications.
    • Verify material and processes certs for thoroughness and correctness.
    • Select appropriate measuring gages to ensure materials are accurately inspected.
    • Accepting or rejecting incoming materials.
    • Document inspection results on inspection plans and save records in the ERP system.
    • Ensure open inspection lots are processed within 48 hours of receipt.
    • Use of various manual measuring gages and Hexagon CMM using PC-DMIS Software
    • Generate material review request (MRR) for all nonconforming materials.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
    • Inspect work in Class 100 cleanroom if required and other buildings.
    • Maintain thorough & accurate records of all inspections.
    • Evaluate situations and recommend CAR’s when appropriate to correct non-conformances in work instructions, drawings, or quality standards.
    • Consult with Quality Manager on recommendations to improve operational procedures, overall efficiency and/or product yields.

    Machines, Tools and Equipment Used:

    • Micrometer, calipers, optical comparator, vision system, CMM, height/drop gage, bore gage, surface profilometer, microscope, thread gages and other measuring gages.

    Materials:

    • Powder metals, porous metals, solid metals, test & welding gasses (Argon, Helium, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Cryogenic Nitrogen, Cryogenic Argon), electropolish solutions, cleaning solutions, acids, deionized water, isopropanol alcohol.

    Education / Experience required:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
    • Additional education through a Technical School or Trade School required with Metrology courses preferred.
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience as a quality inspector or technician.
    • Basic math skills required.
    • ASQ certification preferred.
    • Prior use of Hexagon CMM using PC-DMIS Software preferred.

    Other skills required:

    • Must be mechanically inclined.
    • Must be able to use word processor and spreadsheet programs. CAD software experience is helpful.
    • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and standards.
    • Must have a sense of urgency and be detail oriented.
    • A desire to achieve the best and ensure top-quality products.
