Job Summary:

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for implementing compliance and work performance within the Vegetation Management and Forestry industries. Support a team to ensure compliance is maintained, and implement, to contract, company, and industry standards and regulations. Duties will be performed within the minimum approach distance of energized utility lines and critical infrastructure.

Pay: $46.75/hr

Supervisor Duties: No

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Responsible for supporting managers in maintaining contract schedules
• Assist the Quality Control Officer and Manager as required
• Conduct post work audits
• Observe active work performance and recommend changes if required
• Recommend corrective action plans, and schedules for non-compliant post work activities
• Responsible for preparing, maintaining, updating, and organizing all relevant records pertaining to contracts
• Proactively communicate with project management and superintendents, keeping all abreast of any upcoming issues, opportunities, and changes
• Produce and update forms, documents, and databases through applications and programs (Microsoft Office, Microsoft EXCEL, FieldMaps, OneVM, ArcGIS, etc.)
• Must be able to work outdoors, year-round in varying environments
• Must be able to work in, around and amongst poisonous plants and noxious vegetation
• Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: 3-7 years of experience in Utility line clearance and Right-of-Way (ROW) vegetation management operations
• ISA Certified Arborist or ISA Certified Utility Arborist (ISA)
• Valid Driver License

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

• Qualified Applicator License (QAL)
• Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC)
• Associates Degree
• Bachelor's Degree

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Knowledge of tree trimming, vegetation management and forestry industries
• Knowledge of tree trimming, climbing, equipment and techniques within utility ROW industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate light equipment: chainsaw, blowers, chippers, pole pruners.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to utilize technology to complete duties and tasks
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PDF’s, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI and applicable safety requirements related to tree trimming
• Knowledge of OSHA, ANSI and applicable safety requirements related to equipment operations
• Knowledge of safety requirements related to commercial on-highway vehicles
• Ability to motivate self and others
• Ability to think critically
• Ability to resolve conflicts

• This position is expected to travel to project sites and locations within California (Operating Area)

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
