POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for efficient operations through oversight and coordination of work tasks throughout different production lines; additionally ensuring the quality standards for raw materials, processed products, and processing procedures are maintained. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring inspections and lines are completed accurately, efficiently, thoroughly, and methodically to ensure quality standards are upheld to provide the best product line.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor and reduce production downtime and product waste in operations area by: following up on equipment issues, involving maintenance in a time
- ly manner, ensuring all adequate materials and supplies are available, providing tracking of equipment downtime, participating in root cause analysis, and fostering a teamwork environment
- Ensure timely and adequate delivery of supplies to the line such as: PPE/GMP tools, glue and consumables, cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Communicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information.
- Works with employees on identifying, discussing solutions and implementing “fixes” on machinery and equipment problems
- Manages machinery set-up and adjustment and inspects products to ensure compliance to standards
- Oversees quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limits
- Complete and/or administer necessary documentation such as production sheets, pallet ticketing, job progressions, etc.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Establishes verification and validation processes for the inspection and acceptance of hardware
- Performs inspections in a thorough, methodical, and accurate manner, and taking the appropriate actions based upon the quality systems procedure manual and the acceptance and rejection criteria of the control documents
- Generate and maintain updated the Process Control Records; provide technical assistance to operations regarding process deviation reports and product specifications
- Assist in the development / implementing of quality alerts, or process work instructions for lines
- Communicate with the Quality Assurance Manager on all quality opportunities and findings
- Collaborate and coordinate with Production on any issues pertaining to the production line performance
- Maintain and follow through on punch lists generated by audits, inspections, or maintenance
- Participate on the Safety programs and committees; follow all site safety policies, company policies and procedures work safely and wear appropriate PPE
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Required – High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; Prefer Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Quality Technology, Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field or two-year technical degree or equivalent
- Prefer – 7 years’ experience in quality inspection & inspection processes
- Prefer experience maintaining motor controls, installations, maintenance, and repairs
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, and processes
GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of the operation of lathes, shapers, milling machines, drill presses, and other related equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and experience (work with machines and general tooling)
- Formalized mechanical training, skilled in hand and power tool usage
- Operator knowledge of compressors, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small power equipment
- Use of precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and production manufacturing systems
- A demonstrated experience where quick-thinking and problem solving plays a critical role
- Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like forklifts, scissor lifts, basket trucks and bobcats
- Working knowledge of all automation standard practices
- Forklift driver: Must receive training and be certified before operating a forklift; re-certification is required every 3 years
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically
- Ability to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines
- Must be able to identify and execute improvement opportunities through both process improvements and system improvements
- Ability to work with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds
- Preference will be given to qualified local candidates
SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-site software
- Midlevel SAP or Quality Management System experience, preferred

Will lift, carry, pull / push, and reach for supplies and on occasion lifting (up to 50 lbs.) while performing various aspects of the job; Will need to climb stairs, climb ladders, lift and move objects, requires manual dexterity and repetitive use of keyboard/computer devices/power tools/machining equipment; Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
12 hour rotating shifts 4 days on and 4 days off; Rotating shifts requires working night shifts; Present to fulfill job duties & meet operational demands/support; Schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which may include long days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime; Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position
