Quality Control Assistant Needed in Santa Maria (Hardware Manufacturing)

$20 - $25/hour (negotiable)

Monday - Friday 1st shift

Quality Control Assistant

A worldwide leader in the manufacturing of water hoses, has an opening for a Quality Control Assistant at our main office located in Santa Maria.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections of raw materials, purchased parts, in-process parts and finished products according to NAFH criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.
• Work with filed inspectors from UL and FM.
• Accurately document the results of the inspections and testing.
• Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
• Inspect all areas of manufacturing to ensure quality standards are met.
• Evaluate Customer Returns and report results.
• Coordinate calibration of all test equipment and fixtures.
• Participate in the construction and/or revision of specs for cost effectiveness.
• Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures and checklists.
• Observe and participate in production processes to identify and evaluate problems in order to make initial recommendations for possible corrective action.
• Report, document and identify root cause of unusual production circumstances.
• Maintain a safe, well organized and clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Training, Skills and Experience Requirements:

Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred.

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Quality Control experience is preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrate ability to multi-task and excel in a highly timeline driven fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of measurement instruments.
• General proficiency of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time, and occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
