GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Defense requirements outlined in AIB International Standards, in addition to company quality and safety protocols and procedures for the Olathe, Kansas facility.
The position reports to the Facility Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains AIB certification and meets minimum 965 score
· Supervise QA activities using Quality Management System (QMS)
· Manages on-site Food Defense Program
· Ensures activities on the Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS) are performed and documented
· Ensures that cGMP and Quality requirements are followed throughout the facility
· Ensures the facility is following social responsibility requirements and coordinating on-site audits
· Communicates challenges, findings and suggestions for continuous improvement opportunities.
· Implements Continuous Improvement Opportunities in conjunction with Production.
· Maintains approved chemical list database and monitors chemical control program
· Establish and maintain the Internal Audit schedule
· Trains personnel on policies and procedures
· Manages Customer/Consumers and Supplier complaints
· Performs Root Cause Analysis and develops Corrective Action Plans
· Performs Mock Recalls
· Controls Non-Conformance products: Hold area, Rejects and Food Bank
· Active participant in the Daily Staff Meetings
· Meet all scorecard goals and KPIs
· Active Safety Committee Member
· Enforces adherence to Control Plan
· Helps conduct accident and incident investigations.
· Responsible to complete Corrective Action Plans
· Performs emergency drills
· Performs performance reviews and goal setting of QA employees
· Provides counseling and disciplinary actions to Quality employees as needed
· Performs other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise two shifts for Quality Assurance employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
General:
· Demonstrates excellent attention to detail
· Works well with little supervision
· Works well in a team environment
· Maintains a high level of business courtesy and etiquette when interacting with Customers, Vendors, and Sales representatives
· Demonstrates time management and multitasking skills
· Willingness to work additional hours as necessary
· Bilingual in Spanish not required but desired
· Authorized to work in the U.S.
· Must be at least 18 years of age
Education/Experience:
· 2 years experience in Food Safety, Quality and Food Defense
· Knowledge FDA FSMA regulation and AIB requirements
· At least 2 year degree preferred
· Must possess analytical skills
· OSHA Safety Experience
· Understands Lean Manufacturing tools including: 5 why’s, Brainstorming, Fishbone, Graphs and Root Cause Analysis.
Computer Skills:
· Ability to use various PC software in Windows environment
Math/Language/Reasoning Abilities:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to solve problems independently
· Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately
· Ability to talk clearly and precisely to employees with respect
Certificates and Licenses:
· PCQI certification; AIB Food Defense, HACCP, TQM preferred but not required · Maintains certification as a First Aid Responder and accredited CE’s ·
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Internal, climate-controlled traditional office environment and, warehouse and manufacturing areas; work requires periods of
sitting, frequent walking, frequent computer use, frequent use of telephone including voicemail, and frequent use of general office
equipment. Occasional lifting required when locating stock in the warehouse.
