Being a Quality Control Supervisor recommends changes in specifications of materials, parts, and products based on inspection results. May formulate and revise quality control policies and procedures. Additionally, Quality Control Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.     GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION FOR QUALITY CONTROL DIMENSIONAL INSPECTOR

    The Quality Inspector will be responsible for but not limited to, performing Dimensional inspections on projects in addition to other non-NDE activities that may be requested.

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES FOR QUALITY CONTROL DIMENSIONAL INSPECTOR
    • Conduct receipt inspections in accordance with procedures and acceptance criteria
    • Conduct mechanical inspections using manual precision measuring equipment e.g.: calipers, micrometers, tape measures, thread gages, dial bore gages.
    • Conduct portable CMM inspections using software.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
    • Inspect various assemblies and components for adherence to quality requirements.
    • Identify, tag, accept or reject make sketches/diagrams
    • Complete documentation of inspections on reports
    • Locate and move material with necessary lifting equipment
    • Develop and implement new inspection methods, gages, templates, and procedures
    • Communicate inspections results to supervision, engineers, and customers.
    • Witness, document, and report hydro testing results
    • Ability to pass written exams and maintain qualifications
    • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations
    • Entry level of knowledge on other non-destructive test methods i.e. VT, PT, MT, UT, and RT
    • Perform gage verification activities and maintain calibration records
    • Conduct hardness and surface finish tests
    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS FOR QUALITY CONTROL DIMENSIONAL INSPECTOR
    • Must have minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical (dimensional) inspector.
    • Prior FARO experience a plus
    • Successful applicant will have a systematic approach to work, be detail oriented and able to finish assignments with little supervision.
    • Good computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point & Access).
    • Excellent communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
    • Good teamwork skills, participating in team environment.
    • Must have experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Familiarity with safety procedures and principles to support working in a safe environment

    EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALITY CONTROL DIMENSIONAL INSPECTOR
    • Two- or four-year college degree or relevant experience in inspection activities
    • Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
    • Willing and capable of standing the entire shift.
