Quality Control Supervisor oversees and monitors the inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards. Establishes inspection protocols, defines sampling procedures, and determines equipment and mechanisms to be used in the testing process. Being a Quality Control Supervisor recommends changes in specifications of materials, parts, and products based on inspection results. May formulate and revise quality control policies and procedures. Additionally, Quality Control Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.     Wage Scale for Position:
    $21-$23/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime.

    Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

    • Collect samples from asphalt or aggregate plants

    • Performs field tests for density or other properties

    • Performs and records aggregate gradations

    • Process samples using a variety of testing equipment and procedures

    • Record data and enter information into computer systems

    • Communicates with plant staff

    • Performs general clean-up and maintenance duties as assigned

    • Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production

    • Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.

    • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.

    • Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.

    • Regular and timely attendance.

    • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment


    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


    Minimum Qualifications:


    • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.

    • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.

    • Safety sensitive: “Per RCW 49.44.240 this position has been identified by the employer as safety sensitive and will be subject to an employer-required pre-employment drug screening that includes testing for nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites.”

    • Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.

    • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.

    • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.


    Education/Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

    • Ability to obtain A.C.I Concrete Technician certification and concrete Strength Testing certification,

    • Valid driver’s license required.

    Knowledge/Skill Requirements

    • Demonstrates good performance, safety and attendance.

    • Demonstrates proficiency in basic mathematics.

    • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.

    • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.

    • Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

    • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.

    • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills.

    • Must pass DOT physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
