Additionally, Quality Control Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Inspects press plates and off-press product for conformity to specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Check plates for accuracy before release to press.
· Supplies presses with proper colorproofs.
· Check press pull-ups.
· Check bindery pull-ups.
· Interact with press and bindery personnel to communicate quality issues.
· Create rule-ups and deliver to Bindery Department.
· Order plate re-makes from plateroom using Remake slip.
· Organize customer-supplied art and proofs for return.
· Perform special projects as requested by management.
· Perform work per Standard Operating Procedures, Detailed Work Instructions, and Production Standards.
· Observe and comply with all safety rules and regulations.
· Follow all company policies and procedures as specified in the departmental SOP’s and in the Employee Handbook.
