As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Parts Manager to oversee procurement activities for two of our subsidiary companies.
Position Overview : The Parts Manager will be responsible for sourcing and procuring parts and materials from a list of preferred vendors for two of our subsidiary companies.
This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain supplier relationships.
Additionally, the Parts Manager will be tasked with identifying potential new suppliers and additional sources to serve as backups, ensuring continuity of supply.
Key Responsibilities :
Vendor Management :
Maintain relationships with existing vendors, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of parts.
Evaluate vendor performance regularly, addressing any issues or concerns to maintain high standards of quality and service.
Identify potential new vendors, conduct due diligence, and assess their capabilities to meet the company's requirements.
Procurement :
Review parts and materials requirements for production schedules and inventory levels, ensuring timely procurement to meet production demands.
Create purchase orders, track deliveries, and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
Work closely with the production team to understand specific part requirements and technical specifications.
Cost Management :
Analyze pricing trends and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
Implement cost-saving initiatives such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, or alternative sourcing strategies.
Quality Assurance :
Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased parts and materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
Address any quality issues promptly, working with vendors to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
Qualifications :
Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement software.
Solid understanding of technical specifications and requirements for engineering parts and materials.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
