Quality Generalist Manager develops and administers policies and procedures for evaluating and improving the quality of products, materials, components and/or manufacturing processes. Makes recommendations to ensure production runs meet established quality standards and predicted yields. Being a Quality Generalist Manager ensures employees follow established procedures and complete quality assurance work within time and budgetary constraints. May be responsible for ensuring products meet international quality standards such as ISO 9001. Additionally, Quality Generalist Manager works across a variety of quality assurance disciplines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Quality Generalist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Quality Generalist Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Quality Manager oversees, administers, and supports quality and improvement initiatives.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Supervises day to day operations, trains, and develops QA staff members.

    • Oversees, administers, supports, tracks all Quality Control efforts.

    • Works closely with operations, administration, and corporate-based teams, to ensure cross-functional cooperation and communication. 

    • Actively participates in Continuous Improvement/Kaizen/Lean efforts.

    • Reports items or circumstances which may negatively impact quality and help to develop solutions to solve such issues.

    • Participates in the creation and documentation of standard work practices.

    • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

    EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum Degree Required:  High School Diploma

    • Preferred Degree:  Bachelor’s in related field

    • Experience: Marine industry experience preferred, but not required.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

    • Working knowledge of production operation.

    • Familiarity with CI/Lean/Kaizen processes

    • Excellent verbal, written and computer skills.

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    •  Minimal including occasional travel to other WRMG facilities.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Regular computer work, walking and standing

    • Occasional sitting and lifting up to 50lbs


    INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: 

    • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
