    The Quality Improvement Specialist will have responsibilities leading Process Audits (LIR’s), Product regulator audits (99 and ODS testing) developing and delivering intra-plant training activities, and supporting Operations, Supplier Quality and New Product Development. Quality Specialist will play an integral role identifying and solving major quality issues. The Quality Improvement Specialist requires intimate familiarity of key processes and procedures within the Quality organization while frequently interacting with other departments throughout the company. The Quality Improvement Specialist reports directly to the Operational Excellence Coordinator and will work collaboratively with the Director of Operational Excellence. The Quality Improvement Specialist must demonstrate and support IHP Core Values for Operational Excellence!
    Role and Responsibilities
    • Perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential functions/duties satisfactorily. Other duties/functions may be added or assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
    • Utilizing Lean and SixSigma problem solving methodologies, drive IQMS quality improvement activities associated with manufacturing yields, customer return rates, customer complaints, quality system efficiencies, and in-process failures, using statistical analysis
    • Facilitate and manage customer satisfaction initiatives by tracking and improving customer perception; take the lead in managing customer focus KPIs such as LIR (leading) and QPR (lagging) metrics
    • Work closely with Product Engineering teams to support new product launches through specification FAI’s, product testing, and process monitoring (audits)
    • Identify opportunities for Quality specific training improvements; develop and deliver training modules (In Process Inspection, General QC Standard, Product Safety, etc)
    • Imbed OpEx into the Quality and plant organization
    • Perform audits of (QMS) Quality Management System as per schedule
    • Ensure compliance with Inline Plastics QMS and all relevant internal procedures and policies
    • Assist with the implementation of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs)
    • Mentor Operations staff to ensure proper procedures are followed and product quality levels are maintained
    • Support and participate in any OpEx initiatives
    • Must have the ability to work flexible hours and support multiple manufacturing locations as needed
    Qualifications and Education Requirements
    • Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training is preferred.
    • Must be able to work independently and lead quality improvement projects.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is encouraged.
    • Computer skills - knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Minitab experience is a plus.
    Preferred Skills
    • Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training is preferred.
    • Must be able to work independently and lead quality improvement projects.

    • Problem solving skills and ingenuity to operate the facility with minimal resources.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as quality and assembly instructions, drawings, industry standards and safety rules.

    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
    Physical and Environmental Requirements
    • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
    • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
