    Lead the establishment of a World-Class quality culture at a Daikin Applied Business Unit with the mission to turn quality into a competitive advantage, ultimately on a global enterprise basis, while reducing the Business Unit's warranty costs. This is done by directing a Business Unit Quality Improvement program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Provide overall product and process quality direction across all functional areas in the Business Unit.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Establish a quality vision and spearhead the culture change to achieve that vision. Interpret and communicate the quality improvement philosophy to all personnel in the organization.
    • Formulates and maintains quality improvement objectives that complement corporate policies and goals and incorporates these goals and objectives into the expectations for the Quality function at the manufacturing location.
    • Manages the ISO Quality Certification program for the Business Unit.
    • Analyze, evaluate, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of the management team.
    • Collaborates with engineering managers to ensure new products meet quality standards in accordance with the NPI (New Product Introduction) and development process and to identify and correct design problems on existing products.
    • Oversees the quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor and company quality records.
    • Work with Supply Chain Management and Supplier Quality in supporting the supplier quality assurance program.
    • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
    • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures for solving problems and meeting changing market conditions.
    • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
    • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
    • Establish quality disciplines (Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), data collection, prioritization, and metrics). Develops initial and subsequent modifications to the quality improvement program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within the program.
    • Leads Quality team to align with other functions within the organization to run Quality Clinic for sound RCCA and mistake-proof corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
    • Keep site ever compliant with ASME certification for pressure vessels.
    • Reviews data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures. Reviews technical problems and procedures and recommends solutions or revisions.
    • Establishes and oversees quality & operator training programs.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards. Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in the industry.

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical degree. Master's degree preferred.
    • Five to ten years of combined manufacturing, engineering, and quality experience in a leadership capacity.
    • HVAC industry and global experience are preferred.
