Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare leads and directs process and overall quality improvement activities that produce better patient care and more efficient operations.     Job Location:    Simpson Door Co. - McCleary, WA
    Salary Range:    $24.00 - $30.00 Hourly

    Position Purpose:

    Works as a member of the Quality/Continuous Improvement Team supporting Simpson’s Quality and Continuous Improvement strategic initiatives.

    Essential Functions:

    • Conduct quality checks within the manufacturing department, document and share results with manufacturing team.
    • Work with operators to understand out of spec quality results.
    • Run “purple tag” report at end of each operating day and share results with manufacturing team.  Investigate quality issues reflected in the report as appropriate.  Organize and share findings with manufacturing team.
    • Work with Supervisor and operators to develop/update Standard Work documentation.  Distribute/ post as appropriate.
    • Create charts using Excel to show results of quality checks/continuous improvement tracking, documentation.
    • Participate in change initiatives as assigned.
    • Is a back up to Quality Supervisor to conduct quality training.  May also help update train materials.
    • Back up Quality Assistant as necessary.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    KEY PROFICIENCIES:

    • Effectively manage varied and multiple duties while providing accurate, timely, quality service in a cost-efficient, time-effective manner.
    • Ability to work independently and handle time critical assignments at times with overlapping and competing deadlines.
    • Attentiveness to detail is critical. Must be able to maintain concentration for extended time periods to set-up processes, perform data input, etc, yet manage multiple interruptions.
    • Experience with file searching and organizing, Excel and Word proficiency.

    Requirements:  Technical / Educational:

    • High School Diploma, or equivalent
    • Strong PC skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    • Ability to produce accurate and timely work.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work with a team, or independently as the work requires.
    • Ability to navigate multiple and competing deadlines/priorities.
    • Maintain confidentiality.

    Requirements Work Experience:

    • Experience in an administrative/clerical environment or demonstrated skill
    • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to use Word to create documents/tables; Excel to record data, create charts, pivot tables; and use PowerPoint to create presentations.

    Type of Work Environment:

    The primary location of the work performed is within the production department, in areas with concrete or wood floors, and stairs to offices and training rooms.  Occasionally, the work of this position will require walking outside of the facility on uneven/unpaved ground with exposure to the weather elements of the day.

    Will be required to wear safety gear (safety glasses and hearing protection), attire suitable for a manufacturing environment, follow all safety rules, and be aware of moving equipment such as forklifts and carts.
