Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare leads and directs process and overall quality improvement activities that produce better patient care and more efficient operations.     POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Quality Improvement Director (QI) manages and coordinates organization-wide efforts to ensure that QI programs are developed and managed using a data driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives.

    SCHEDULE AND PAY

    This is a full-time (40 hour) position. Monday – Friday 8AM – 5PM.

    Salary range: $80,000- $85,000 (Dependent on education and experience)

    DUTIES

    • Chairs Quality Improvement Committee and Co-Chairs Performance Improvement Committee.
    • Serves as Team Lead for IowaHealth (Accountable Care Organization) Performance Improvement Learning Collaborative.
    • Partners with Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) to request, review and analyze health center specific data.
    • Monitors clinical quality measures and disseminates this information to appropriate staff.
    • Participates in organizational strategic planning and provides leadership for PI/QI policy development across all health center departments.
    • Researches and develops QI training programs that focus on enabling the workforce to achieve improvements with priority health concerns.
    • Creates and displays QI Dashboards for the entire staff and Board.
    • Oversees projects related to patient satisfaction including Patient Satisfaction Survey, and Patient Advisory Council
    • Oversees patient complaint process.
    • Oversees regulatory readiness, quality measurement and initiatives, ensures goal accountability.
    • Establishes quality measurements and improvement activities, including methods to track implementation of action plans following site surveys and critical events review.
    • Coordinates Root Cause Analyses and provides debriefings following any critical event.
    • Oversees Ambulatory Accreditation (Joint Commission), Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Recognition, Uniform Data Systems (UDS) Reporting, Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) Scores.
    • Works with Risk Manager and Infection Control, HIPAA, Corporate Compliance and Safety Officers to ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
    • Coordinates arrangements for on-site visits of accreditation teams; develops action plans for improved compliance with accreditation standards. Completes response to report from accreditation agency following on-site visit.
    • Coordinates the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) application and oversees compliance with FTCA standards.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree (required) in healthcare or a related field.
    • Master’s Degree (preferred) in healthcare or a related field.
    • Previous experience (3 years) in a healthcare setting; previous FQHC experience desirable
    • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EPIC experience is a plus)
