Develops strategic plans and policies for improved quality throughout the hospital and works with top management to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. Being a Quality Management Director - Healthcare typically requires a bachelor's degree in the field or a related area and certification as a registered nurse. Typically reports to top management. The Quality Management Director - Healthcare manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Nurse Director of Quality will report directly to the CNO. Supported by a quality Manager and a committee of passionate quality focused nurses, this person will lead an outstanding and busy hospital in quality initiatives. The Nurse Director of Quality will work with the hospital staff, educators, and other leaders to develop new patient care initiatives as they are needed.

    The Nurse Director of Quality will be in charge of developing and implementing departmental goals and standards that align with the clinical objectives, goals and values of the organization. The Nurse Director prepares and evaluates the budgets of the departments, and makes sure that departments are working within budgetary allocation. This requires evaluating departmental operations, including patient care and complaint management, to achieve the quality control goals. Most importantly, The Nurse Director will be responsible for creating an environment that promotes safe, outstanding care, and encouraging growth throughout the hospital.
