We have an immediate opportunity for Director of Quality Management.
General Summary: The Director of Quality Management (DQM) provides operational and strategic leadership to support the LifeCare mission of providing superior specialized critical care. The Director works collaboratively with senior leadership, physicians, all departments and managers to develop the hospital’s quality and safety program and to ensure regulatory compliance and accreditation. The DQM directs and/or performs the departmental functions of all quality management services in the hospital including Risk Management, Performance Improvement, Medical Staff Credentialing, Patient Safety, Infection Control and the hospital compliance program. The DQM works in collaboration with the Infection Control Nurse. The Director Quality Management develops and implements the hospital Performance Improvement Program through an ongoing program that objectively and systematically monitors, measures and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of patient care, pursues opportunities to improve patient care, and assists in the resolution of problems that are identified. The Director Quality Management is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient- centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.
Patient Population: Has contact with patients in a clinical setting; understands and demonstrates appropriate behavior when interacting with patients in the adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older) populations.
Essential Functions:

Supervision: Directs the functions and the staff of the Quality Management department.
Experience: Five to seven years of relevant acute-care hospital experience in quality, patient safety, regulator accreditation, and performance improvement. Previous management experience and working knowledge of standards compliance for regulatory agencies: The Joint Commission, the State and all oversight agencies.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred or actively matriculating toward.
Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse license in state where currently practicing. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred. All Directors of Quality Management must maintain current licensure while employed with LifeCare Hospitals.
