The Director of Quality is responsible for the development, implementation, oversight and management of the facility's quality, performance improvement, and safety processes. Coordinates programs and/or processes designed to assess and evaluate the quality and safety of patient care and outcomes including medical staff quality processes. Responsible for the direction and oversight of regulatory compliance initiatives including continual survey readiness activities. Oversees medical staff credentialing processes. Oversees the implementation of High Reliability and Safety within the system. Facilitates consistency in facility policies and practices. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Minimum of five (5) years in an acute care facility and five (5) years in Quality Management are required. A working knowledge of Quality Improvement principles and statistical methodologies and experience in oversight/management of regulatory compliance including Joint Commission, CMS and State regulations is required. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with Quality Officers, Executive Leaders, Medical Staff, Department Leaders, and Hospital Staff throughout the health system. Must exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Position requires working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office applications.
Associates degree in nursing with bachelor's degree in related field or bachelor's degree in nursing or pertinent healthcare related field is required. Master's degree in healthcare related discipline is preferred.
Current RN licensure by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing or certification/registration in pertinent healthcare related field is required. Certification through the HQCB is required (or within one year of hire into the position).
