    Job purpose

    The Quality Management Director plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and continuous performance improvement. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role has comprehensive oversight over the areas of Performance Improvement, Compliance, Health Informatics Data Analysis, and Accreditation. The leadership and expertise provided by this individual will be instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and efficiency throughout the organization.

     

    Duties and responsibilities

     

    • Performance Improvement:
      1. Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and overall quality of care.
      2. Collaborates with department heads and healthcare teams to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
      3. Establishes and leads performance improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and benchmarks.
      4. Analyzes clinical data, identifies trends, and implements evidence-based practices to drive improvements.
    • Compliance:
      1. Stays up to date with relevant healthcare regulations, laws, and accreditation standards.
      2. Oversees the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies.
      3. Conducts regular audits to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.
      4. Works with leadership and legal team to address compliance issues and mitigate risks.
    • Healthcare Data Analysis:
      1. Supervises the collection, analysis, and interpretation of healthcare data from various sources.
      2. Utilizes data to identify patterns, measure performance, and support decision-making processes.
      3. Collaborates with the IT team to ensure data integrity, security, and efficient reporting mechanisms.
      4. Prepares and presents data-driven reports to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders.
    • Accreditation:
      1. Leads the organization's efforts in obtaining and maintaining relevant healthcare accreditations and certifications.
      2. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and facilitates the preparation for accreditation surveys.
      3. Engages with accrediting bodies and oversees the submission of required documentation.
      4. Implements corrective action plans to address findings and recommendations from accreditation surveys.
    • Supervises and mentor’s direct reports, providing guidance and support in their respective areas.
    • Performs other duties as required.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • 7 or more years in quality management, performance improvement, compliance, and healthcare data analysis within a healthcare setting.
    • Six Sigma certified (black belt preferred)
    • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission, CARF, etc.).
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve quality improvement goals.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience working in a hospital highly preferrable.
    • Proficient in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

     

    Working conditions

    • Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. 

    Physical requirements

    • May require the occasional ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
