We are seeking a MaintenanceUnit Supervisor to support a leading aluminum products andtechnologies company in Bettendorf or Davenport IA.
This is an onsite position and relocationassistance isavailable.
12hourshifts and will rotate approximately every 612 weeks depending onbusiness conditions from days to nights.
Job Summary :
The Maintenance Unit Supervisoris accountable for providing leadership and direction to assignedmembers of the crew in order to meet business requirements for theefficient production of metal in a leanenvironment.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Maintaina safe work environment and a workplace that causes no harm topeople or theenvironment.
- Leadindividual safety discussions and jobspecific safetyreviews.
- Supportoperating results through the management of subordinates withemphasis on quantity quality timeliness safety recovery anddeliveryperformance.
- Developindividuals in the organization by providing challengingassignments for the craftspeople and by providing training coachingand mentoring for thepeople.
- Ensurework is allocated fairly and clearly assigned to crew members;formulate and assign tasks within guidelines established byDepartment management prioritizing work based on knowledge ofbusinesscriticality.
- Decideand deploy appropriate crewing arrangements for planned andunplanned situations based on absences schedule requirementsequipment availability and vacations within labor agreementguidelines.
- Leada technically capable maintenance workforce that values diversityand is customeroriented responsive andflexible.
- Workwith craftspeople to apply root cause analysis and rapidproblemsolving techniques to maintain or restoreproduction.
- Gatherdata to assist in the application of root cause analysis andproblemsolving techniques for majorexceptions.
- Effectiveasset management in a costeffective manner including properequipment operations worldclass equipment availability and longtermviability ofequipment.
- Advancethe business objectives regarding quality (consistency andreliability) costs (supplies) waste elimination and leanmanufacturing.
- Makedecisions about differential performance both those requiringrecognition and reward and those requiring discipline in a fair andequitable manner with supporting documentation of appropriatenessof actionstaken.
Requirements
Education :
High Schooldiploma or equivalent (GED) (required).
Required :
- 3 years of handson maintenanceexperience.
- 2years of supervisory experience with directreports.
- Aworking knowledge of principles and concepts of Lean Manufacturing(ABS) for effective businessresults.
Preferred :
- Previoussupervisory experience in a manufacturingenvironment.
- Mechanicalbackground.
- Experiencein a union environment.
