  • Arcosa Marine is searching for a safety-oriented Quality Manager in our Bossier City, LA plant. As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of a quality culture throughout the business, so every employee understands the requirements of our customers and can produce a quality product. The primary focus of the Quality Manager is to manage the quality control systems throughout the plants, including the quality certifications, process operating standards and corrective action implementation.

     

    Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

     

    What You’ll Do:

    • Provide leadership to the organization to help drive a proactive approach leading to improvements in design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers
    • Partner with Manufacturing Operations to solve quality problems while maintaining manufacturing efficiencies, meeting competitive business deadlines and increasing customer satisfaction levels
    • Ensure that internal processes and metrics are aligned to create highest product quality and highest customer service
    • Strengthen quality systems and ensure Corporate and plant processes are implemented and adequately followed
    • Drive improvements in all areas of operations, focusing on key performance indicators and key plant processes
    • Build strong relationships with customers
    • Support plant as necessary with root cause analysis, 8D, problem solving, lessons learned while driving consistent improvements
    • Assist plant with the deployment of corporate quality policies, auditing practices and ensuring adherence to company's Quality and Regulatory strategies in accordance with the established strategic plan
    • Assist plant with deployment and implementation of customer requirements and specifications as applicable; serve as escalation point for all customer issues for the respective accounts
    • Ensure communication between operations & customers to ensure the delivery of the best product

     

    What You’ll Need:

    • Knowledge of ABS & CFR processes
    • 7 years industrial experience in Quality Engineering/Quality Management in the manufacturing, with operational background - hands on, plant level experience
    • 3 years’ experience in an oversight role leading teams
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to develop strong relationships with customers and plant level teams
    • Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with all operational teams 
    • Strong presentation skills - both presentation development (Power Point) and presentation delivery
