    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    Locate and research new suppliers and second sourcing of existing materials globally. Assist on projects related to Quality, Marketing & Innovation and Logistics efforts. Focus on vendor quality, cost, and capabilities.

    Global Sourcing

    • Locate new and second sources of supply for new and existing materials.
    • Negotiate/maintain cost efficient programs for materials and inbound logistics.
    • Conduct required vendor audits and inspections and provide detailed reports of these audits/inspections to include recommendations for corrective actions, when required.
    • Always represent Muellers interests by facilitating the implementation of recommendations and solutions.
    • Understands Mueller Sports Medicines (MSM) sustainability programs.
    • Assures suppliers provide data required for MSM to complete sustainability calculations, as needed.
    • Support suppliers efforts for sustainability.
    • Respond to or provide data for MSM to respond to inquiries concerning MSM Sustainability programs.

    Interdepartmental Collaborations

    • Provide support to Purchasing Director in all areas related to supply including pricing, quality and regulatory efforts.
    • Partner with Purchasing Director and other departments to conduct fiscal reviews and increase supply chain efficiencies.
    • Provide support to Regulatory Compliance dept. in SA8000 efforts, as needed.
    • Carry out new product project management functions, when required.
    • Provide sourcing support to Marketing & Innovation.
    • Participate in process improvement teams within the Operations and Accounting and Finance areas.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    •  

    Bachelors degree in business, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the position functions of the job.

    •  

    Five or more years of manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain or other related experience.

    •  

    Solid foundation and understanding of finance.

    •  

    Proficient with MRP/ERP systems. SAP preferred.

    •  

    Ability to understand and comply with Mueller Safety Systems and current regulatory requirements.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills; ability to stand or sit, bend or stoop, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read. The team member frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Position requires frequent typing. Position requires domestic and approximately 20% international travel to Asia and other countries. Business travel includes operation of a motor vehicle.
