Racing and Sports Manager manages and directs the racing and sports book daily activities. Oversees racing and sports betting and ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations. Being a Racing and Sports Manager may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Racing and Sports Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the store, including sales, customer service, and inventory management.
- Ensure that the store is properly stocked with merchandise and that shelves are organized and visually appealing.
- Monitor market trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly to meet customer demand.
- Develop and implement organizational strategies to improve store efficiency and profitability.
- Train and supervise store staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints.
- Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers or business partners.
- Perform administrative duties such as record keeping, scheduling, and reporting.
- Utilize math skills to calculate sales figures, analyze financial data, and manage budgets.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- Proficient in using computer systems for inventory management, sales tracking, and other store operations.
- Knowledge of market trends and customer preferences in the retail industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
