ABOUT THE POSITION: The Shipper is responsible for picking and packing orders to be shipped, taking care of freight, .loading trucks and unloading incoming trucks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Select & prepare orders as needed
• Label and shrink wrap pallets of orders being shipped
• Scan & process orders on PC or tablet
• Assumes complete responsibility for ensuring that the packing slip exactly matches items shipped
• Assist other shippers whenever help is needed
• Always keep work area clean and neat
• Misc. Duties as assigned including running the Bagger when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Shipping Experience preferred
• Effective written and communication skills
• Experience working with FedEx Ship Manager and UPS Work Ship – preferred
• Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred

SKILLS/PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Self-starter who is quality minded
• Ability to work alone as well as with others
• Ability to handle basic math accurately and to use common sense to solve problems
• Must be able and willing to become proficient in support equipment as needed including label machine and selected Visual tasks.
• Must have the ability to prioritize, multitask, be detail-oriented, and have excellent attendance and dependability scores
• Responsible for completing accurate paperwork daily and keeping a neat, organized work area
• Ability to take on tasks with professionalism and a positive approach
• Must be willing to work in other areas as needed

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Repetitive motions such as bending, stooping, lifting, and turning
• Communication with truck drivers. Must be able to receive and convey information.
• Required to lift, retrieve, or reposition products weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to safely navigate the warehouse/production facility, OSHA compliant. Normally this person is standing or walking around the facility for their entire shift. Appropriate shoes for standing on concrete flooring is recommended.

• Works in manufacturing / warehouse environment. The noise level in the facility is usually moderate to high. Hearing protection is required and provided.
