Sandy's Racing | Gaming is currently seeking a Director of Finance to play a critical role in
Position Summary
The Director of Finance will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting, financial planning, cage, credit, count room, facilities, EVS, and Sportsbook departments. Ensures the development of the strategic plan, the annual property plan and budget plan, and monitors financial performance compared to the plan and justifies variances at Sandy's Racing & Gaming. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to the overall success of the facility.

Responsibilities
- Leads the functions Accounts Payables, General Ledger Accounting, Revenue Audit, Cage, property Treasury accounting, development and issuance of Financial Statements as well as purchasing and procurement process.
- Initiates statutory payments including taxes, license fees, federal and state files, and other mandates subject to compliance including FinCin.
- Triangulate Finance, Marketing and Operations revenue and expense activities to arrive at accurate DOR, WOR and month-end P&L positions.
- Maintain familiarity with operating and financial systems including gaming system, CMS, Agilisys, payroll, time, and attendance to arrive at accurate financial reporting including P&L, balance sheet and Cage MBAs.
- Manages monthly and quarterly P&L reviews. Coordinates all financial and operating matters with all other property departments and corporate.
- Manages the process of departmental and property budgeting and capital planning. Monitors compliance of Kentucky Racing Commission regulations, and other regulatory agencies
- Ensures that all property financial systems comply with brand standards; Interprets operating results as they affect the financial aspects of the company and makes specific recommendations which will result in cost reduction and accurate accounting classification for all expenditures and documents, including capital and others.
- Acts as the immediate contact for Corporate, Independent Auditors and all government regulatory agencies on accounting and other financial tax matters. Directs the preparation of statistics for periodic and yearly financial statements to include the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, condition, and results.
- Ensure optimum performance of the function by recommending and implementing techniques to improve productivity, increase effectiveness and manage costs. Consults with all segments of management and provides recommendations to maximize financial performance.
- Directs day to day operations of the departments that report to the position. Ensures decision making considerations appropriately weigh profitability, customer service and environment. Responds to and consistently meets the needs of internal and external clients. Supports and cultivates new ideas and methods to deliver business solutions.
- Identifies ways to increase efficiencies or improve product or service. Delivers assignments/projects on time and completes all aspects before delivering to internal clients.
- Clearly communicates programs/services to necessary people, seeks their support and keeps them informed of changes that may impact the business. Keeps track of existing products/services and/or progress on new initiatives. Prepares project plans that aid in moving project forward. Stays up to date with the latest developments in the profession. Develops skills to handle increasingly complex matters.
- Complies with and upholds company expectations including Code of Commitment, policies, procedures, industry regulations, department goals and business strategy. Politely gives consistent, timely and accurate information and finds answers when unsure.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated history of success in developing and maintaining high performing teams and achieving financial and company objectives.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and must possess excellent customer service, leadership, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
Education & Experience
- Four-year college degree in Finance or Accounting required. MBA/CPA preferred.
- Seven years financial performance management experience in gaming financial environment preferred.
- Previous public accounting experience preferred.
- Prior gaming industry experience a plus.
Equipment, Software & Tools
- Proven proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with accounting and payroll software (ADP, Oracle and Kronos) a plus.
- Familiarity with slot accounting systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with player tracking systems is a plus.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (minimum of four hours).
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency while performing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property.
- Must be able to lift and handle up to 25lbs without assistance.
