Racing and Sports Shift Supervisor jobs in Odessa, TX
Racing and Sports Shift Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of racing and sports book personnel during an assigned shift. Ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations. Being a Racing and Sports Shift Supervisor may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Racing and Sports Shift Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Perform administrative supervisory and professional work in coordinating various sport programs.
- Regular attendance is required to perform the duties of this position.
- Maintain relative records for all sports programs.
- Prepare weekly work schedules for instructors to ensure adequate coverage of programs. Manage and supervise sports facilities during scheduled programs to include crowd control, player and instructor supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or GED. Supervisory experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Skill in operation of listed equipment.
Working knowledge of various sports and their rules (i.e. basketball, volleyball, tennis, wrestling, football, and weight training).
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, participants, and the general public.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to give and understand oral instructions.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Basketball equipment, scoreboard, score clock, tennis equipment, volleyball equipment, football equipment, and weight training equipment.
LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS
Valid State issued Driver’s License
