Radiation Physicist ensures the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment and the protection of patients and staff from radiation. Calibrates all radiation therapy equipment, conducts X-ray machine performance surveys, and implements procedures to ensure quality control for electronic imaging devices. Being a Radiation Physicist recommends radiation safety procedures. Informs staff in radiation safety practices. Additionally, Radiation Physicist may require an advanced degree of radiation physics. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Radiation Physicist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Pacific Crest Medical Physics is seeking a Medical Physicist Assistant for a full time position in beautiful Northern California. Chico is surrounded by many outdoor activities and is near some of the most desirable west coast destinations, including San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Napa Valley.
Candidates are expected to assist with treatment planning, machine QA and patient-specific QA.
Minimum of Master’s degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-approved program, graduation from CAMPEP approved residency or equivalent work experience.
