Radiation Physicist ensures the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment and the protection of patients and staff from radiation. Calibrates all radiation therapy equipment, conducts X-ray machine performance surveys, and implements procedures to ensure quality control for electronic imaging devices. Being a Radiation Physicist recommends radiation safety procedures. Informs staff in radiation safety practices. Additionally, Radiation Physicist may require an advanced degree of radiation physics. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Radiation Physicist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Certifications: Radiation Therapy - Certification | North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources Radiation Therapy - Certification | American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) | Prior to Start Date preferred but open to someone who will obtain the cert within 6 months | HR Primary Sources Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date | Learning Management System. Schedule: 8am-4:30pm initially, Monday-Friday. Once trained, 6:30am-3pm, Monday-Friday. No holiday work and no weekend work required.
