Radiation Physicist ensures the quality of care in the use of radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment and the protection of patients and staff from radiation. Calibrates all radiation therapy equipment, conducts X-ray machine performance surveys, and implements procedures to ensure quality control for electronic imaging devices. Being a Radiation Physicist recommends radiation safety procedures. Informs staff in radiation safety practices. Additionally, Radiation Physicist may require an advanced degree of radiation physics. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Radiation Physicist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Radiation Oncology is responsible for the coordination and delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice, Nursing Code of Ethics and State and Federal guidelines. The RN adheres to all Stamford Hospital’s policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program. The Registered Nurse ensures provision of safe and therapeutic care using the values inherent in our hospital culture. The registered nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care and is directly responsible to a designated nurse manager.
Schedule: Full Time - 37.5 hrs/week - 5 shifts / 8am-4pm - Monday to Friday
