Radiation Technician collects, tests and analyzes materials of nuclear powered electric generating plant. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Radiation Technician has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Radiation Technician works under immediate supervision. Position Requirements:
o Note: If an individual is not currently registered by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy, Temporary State License will be accepted in lieu of ARRT(T) with the condition that certification through the ARRT will be obtained within one year of hire or title change.
Physical Requirements:
The employee may be exposed to radioactive isotopes, ionizing radiation, and a strong magnetic field, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
o Sit, stand, walk.
o Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs.
o See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.
o Stoop, kneel or crawl.
o Climb and balance.
o Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
