General Description:

Under managerial direction:  plans and provides radiation oncology treatments to patients, ensuring quality treatments.  Adherence to radiation therapy policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Participate in a variety of duties involved in the administration of radiation therapy to patient.
• Operation of Varian Triology iX linear accelerator.
• Mosiaq record and verify
• CBCT, KV-KV, and MV imaging
• CT simulations
• Electron block cutting
• Participates in CT scans and fluoroscopy for the purpose of treatment planning
• Follow established policies, procedures, quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, radiation safety and infection control standards.
• Perform proper handling of hazardous waste materials.
• Keep accurate and complete patient records relating to care
• Provide support and education to patients and family.
• Staff coverage of Monday through Fridays (Days)
• Treatment of 8-10 patients per day. Generally about 180 patient treatments per month.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Training Requirements:

• Graduation of an accredited radiation therapy program
• Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT) or registry eligible within New Mexico certification
• NM Radiation Therapist licensure
• BLS certification through AHA
• Two years of experience required
• New graduates a possibility
