Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist jobs in Elyria, OH
Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates computerized isodose plans for radiation oncology patients. Computes standard dose calculations and determines computerized generation of isodose curves for external beam hyperthermia and brachytherapy radiation treatment programs. Being a Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates treatment machine settings, documents calculations, and records treatment data in therapy chart. Interprets physician prescriptions to develop a therapeutic treatment plan. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist typically requires completion of a training program in medical dosimetry and ARRT registration in radiation therapy. Requires a bachelor's degree of physical or biological sciences. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Responsibilities
- Identify and meet patients’ goals and needs
- Carry out care plans using a variety of treatment techniques
- Provide quality, personalized and evidence-based care and proven interventions
- Motivate patients during treatment in order to help them function optimally
- Promote clients’ healthy lifestyle by improving ROM, strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination
- Consult and practice with other health professionals
- Assess effectiveness of treatments, monitor and communicate progress
- Document patient care services
Skills
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
- Current knowledge of treatment practices
- Drive to continually learn and grow

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Basic computer skills for our documentation software
- Valid license to practice occupational therapy assisting in the state of Ohio
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
