Computes standard dose calculations and determines computerized generation of isodose curves for external beam hyperthermia and brachytherapy radiation treatment programs. Being a Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates treatment machine settings, documents calculations, and records treatment data in therapy chart. Interprets physician prescriptions to develop a therapeutic treatment plan. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist typically requires completion of a training program in medical dosimetry and ARRT registration in radiation therapy. Requires a bachelor's degree of physical or biological sciences. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Position Summary:
The Radiation Therapist coordinates and participates in activities necessary to treat patients with radiation. This includes initial set-up of patients through completion of treatment course as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologists. Provides direct daily care of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Must possess competent clinical and interactive skills for age specific categories.
