    Job Description

    As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Utah Physical Therapy, you play a crucial role in supporting our mission to enhance the well-being of our patients. Your responsibilities include managing movement dysfunction, preventing the onset of impairments, and collaborating with licensed Physical Therapists to deliver comprehensive outpatient care. Your role extends to coordinating patient care, maintaining clear communication with patients, and ensuring timely completion of administrative tasks.

    What You Will Do:

    • Manage movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
    • Prevent the onset, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities.
    • Assist in patient history-taking, systems review, and conducting tests and measures.
    • Coordinate patient care with the PT, ensuring clear communication and follow-up.
    • Attend and actively participate in marketing events and community outreach.
    • Maintain accurate and timely charting of patient progress and treatment plans.
    • Efficiently manage patient flow in a busy outpatient physical therapy practice.
    • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
    • Provide coverage for other professional staff when needed.
    • Other duties as assigned

    What You Will Bring:

    • Current OR ability to obtain PTA Degree from a reputable institution with PTA Boards passed within 3 months of hire.
    • Current CPR certification for Healthcare Professionals or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
    • Excellent communication, phone, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, internet navigation, and basic social media.
    • Ability to maintain HIPAA, clinic, and patient privacy and confidentiality.
    • Positive attitude, strong follow-through, and effective communication within the team.
    • Proficiency in therapeutic procedures, modalities, measurements, and testing within your scope of practice.
    • Experience with WebPT EMR and ability to complete WebPT University instructional videos.
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development with the completion of required CEUs.

    What You Will Experience:

    • Work is primarily conducted in a clinical setting within a physical therapy office.
    • Environment may involve a combination of office spaces and treatment areas.
    • Required to assist patients with exercises, set up equipment, and support therapists during treatment sessions.
    • Handling and moving various therapeutic equipment.
    • Environment can be fast-paced and involve close interaction with patients.
    • Standing for extended periods (on your feet for up to 12 hours a day), walking, bending, lifting, and guiding patients through movements.
    • May be required to sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers and employees.
    • Physical demands of lifting and patient transfers, gait safety.
    • Regularly required to: perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement, feel the attributes of objects, grasp, push, and reach with arms or hands.
    • Use your body to demonstrate all exercises – Body movements, exercise equipment, reach above your head, lift from waist to above head max 15 lbs.
    • Must be able lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist.

    Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

    Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
