Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Being a Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     At Cedars-Sinai Hospital we do not treat all cancers the same. There are more than 20 cancer centers, programs or specialized services that specialize in treatment and groundbreaking research into specific forms of cancer. These centers and programs provide patient centered care and brand new diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical procedures. At the Department of Radiation Oncology, our oncologists, therapists and staff work together to design custom treatment plans for specific cancer diagnoses. This ensures the patient will more quickly feel normal, with minimal impact on healthy tissues from the effects of radiation.

    As our next Clinical Nurse IV, you will use your strong clinical knowledge to deliver direct care to assigned pediatric, adult and or geriatric patients participating in radiation therapy treatments in an ambulatory setting. Your role will entail a strong emphasis on managing side effects, whether the patient is new, on-treatment or coming in for follow-up visits.

    QualificationsEducational Requirements:

    BSN required.

    Licenses:

    California Sate RN license
    ACLS/BLS
    Specialty Certification

    Experience:

    Minimum 3 years of Acute Care NUrsing experience. At least 5 years experience within the specialty area.
    Must be a Clinical Nurse III at CSMC for at least one (1) year, to be promoted within the clinical ladder- for internal hire

    *Manual finger dexterity and fine motor skills with eye-hand coordination
    *Frequent standing, walking, twisting (trunk, neck), bending (waist)flexing/extending/stretching(extremities and trunk)
    *Occasional sitting, gripping/grasping, reaching below shoulder level, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, squatting
    *Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull at least 100 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds
