Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Being a Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Wood County Hospital is seeking a Radiation Therapy Medical Physicist to join our Radiation Oncology Department. The Medical Physicist will manage all aspects of clinical radiation physics including quality assurance, radiation therapy, treatment planning verification, and implementation of new modalities. Performs necessary physics support for all aspects of therapy, quality assistance including but not limited to: 3D, IMRTVMAT treatment planning, LDR, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, DIBH, Gating, monitoring loading and transportation of radioactive material. Performs quality management processes of the department including chart checks, dose calculations, radiation monitoring and equipment calibrations. Maintains skills to assess and care for patients of all ages and disease sites. Provides support and assistance for other medical physics activities related to patient care and staff education.
